It seems to me that Elly will have to pay a price for caving like the spineless wonder she is; that price, of course, is dealing with a sick child by treating him like he's something she scraped off her shoe, bitch about something that's her own fault, miss another course and blame her family for her weakness of character and lack of intellect.

Perhaps later in the week; that's because she's bellowing at inanimate objects now.

Panel 1: We start off with Elly holding a cutting board over a slow cooker as she folds carrot coins into the stew she loves to make. As always, her actions are accompanied by unnecessary sound effects (in this instance Chop-chop-chop-scrape-scrape-scrape) because Lynn wants to make sure people realize this; some of the letters read to her seem to have left her with the impression that there are a lot of dim people who need this clue so they don't think Elly is simply playing freeze tag.

Panel 2: She puts the lid back on the slow cooker.

Panel 3: A few minutes later, she SNIIIIIFFFFFs the air so she can check her progress.

Panel 4: She gazes down at the slow cooker in confusion because she doesn't smell the familiar aroma of stew.

Panel 5: She yells HURRY UP!!! at the slow cooker. This is, of course, because she thinks it's disobeying her and not cooking fast enough to give her help and time to herself.

Summary: She seems to have not read the part of the recipe that says that it's going to be a while before her stew cooks; knowing her, she's going to waste her day standing over the thing getting angrier and angrier because she doesn't understand that it's supposed to take time to cook, time she could use to shave sheets and dust the attic.
