I sincerely hope we switch topics this week; watching Elly blow off her course because she has no respect for the processher life is soooooo haaaaard would be really not what I need to see right now as it implies that she's basically given up on herself and will spend the rest of her life playing the victim instead of trying to improve her lot.

Well, I got what wanted but, as is always with Lynn, don't come close to wanting what I got; that's because the first snowstorm of the season has Elly play the only game she enjoys: Musical Martyrdom.

Panel 1: We start off with Mike and Lizzie having big fun making noise and chasing Farley arouind the house.

Panel 2: Naturally, this makes killjoy Elly yell "Hey! That's a game for OUTSIDE!!!"

Panel 3: She stands there with the Black Cloud of Disproportionate Hostility floating over the Scrunched-up Face of Blind Rage while the kids and Farley look up at her wondering what she'll do next; this is because she doesn't want to admit that children might find running around and yelling to be fun even though she doesn't. In the background, we see why they might not want to be outside; that's because it's snowing to beat Hell out there.

Panel 4: Mike, Lizzie and Farley sit on the couch watching it snow. In the background, Elly is gobsmacked. That's because she just noticed something they've been aware of for a while now; evidently, she had no idea that it's too snowy and cold to do anything outside.

Panel 5: Mike, Lizzie and Farley resume having big fun making noise and running around the house.

Summary: Not only is Elly a kill-joy by nature, she's also so busy feeling sorry for herself because she has to actually be around children all the time that she doesn't notice things like heavy snowfall. Heck, she doesn't even have time to listen to the weather on the radio.
