babsbybend is right to assume that Lynn has decided to fill the gap that Farley's premature appearance will leave with an extended look at Elly the temp. If so, we can expect a foreshadowing of her selling off Lilliput's as she decides on her own that holding down a job is something for later in life.Actually, we get to see Lynn try to explain away the premature disappearance and subsequent reapperance of Deanna Sobinski; given the level of competence we've seen so far, it'll make the "Wally Guerre" plotline in Funky Winkerbean look believable.
While we're waiting for Lynn to fail, here's fortyish Elly and teenaged Liz channeling the Muppet Show's Sam the Eagle and Beaker.
Panel 1: We start off with Lawrence telling Mike why Deanna's back in school; it seems that Wilf and Mira couldn't sell their house.
Panel 2: As the camera angle shidts to show us that the future Forgetful Pharamcist is indeed there, Mike asks "So they're living here again?"; Lawrence tells him that, yes, they're living in the same place.
Panel 3: Michael asks Lawrence how he knows all this. Lawrence says that he asked her. He then reminds Mike that he too can talk to her because she's just an ordinary person.
Panel 4: Mike thought-bubbles that ordinary people don't make his stomach itch.
Summary: I wonder how long it will take for Mike to actually talk to Dee; I also wonder how many faux-pas he will make along the way. Most of all, I wonder how many people will find the reason that the Sobinskis returned remotely plausible; after all, just because you were forced to move back home doesn't mean you get your old job back.
