That's for Tuesday; today, we remind ourselves that she has a crushing fear of dirt that affects how she interacts with her children.
Panel 1: We see Elly sweeping the floor; we're reminded that she does so by the presence of the words SWEEP! SWEEP! DUST! CLEAN! SWEEP! floating around her in mid-air.
Panel 2: We're then reminded why she does so: Mike and Lizzie are CRUMBLE-CHEW-MUNCH-DROP-SPILL-CRUNCHing cookies and potato chips and getting them crumbs all over the floor she's trying to clean. The vacant expression on their faces tells me that they have yet to determine the causal connection between their being slobs and their mother's constant hostility towards them.
Summary: This is, of course, a slice-of-annoying-life strip guaranteed to appear on fridges everywhere. The problem I have with it is that Lynn seems almost to be poisiting that the children are doing this because they're nasty instead of stoooopid.
ETA: The newest banner reminds us that it's back to school.
