The number of fans of Syndicated Comic Strip For Better or For Worse broke the 1,000 barrier earlier this week and held steady around that mark for a few days, but something invigorated the KAN mid-week and the number of fans shot up to 1,098 by this morning.
Peggy A: Love your website and glad to find you on Facebook too!! Thank you for all the joy you bring everyone with your good work. Keep it up! We love you!!!
Katherine D: I have been a fan for more years than I care to count. It has always been the highlight of my day to read your strip in the morning paper. I think I have all of your books, or at least most of them. I was fortunate to meet you one day in Des Moines, ...Iowa when you came to a book store to sign books. You have always "made my day".
To judge from Mike's life, Lynn would only be in a bookstore to sign books (or possibly to rearrange the shelves so hers were displayed prominently. Certainly not to buy any unless she just wanted to have something on the shelves to make her look smart when company was over.
Eva G S:I'm new to Facebook and just found this website. I have all the books, and have loved the strip since I was a kid. Glad to find others who feel the same way!! Thank you Lynn for your stories and longevity!!
Heather G: I've loved this strip since it came out. Watched Michael, Liz, and April grow up and cried when Farley died. Ms Johnston YOU ROCK!!
Miroslaw T L: Like everyone else here, I love your strip and the touching way you portray the comic and tragic parts of family life. Thank you for keeping it going.
Robin S C: I swear you lived in my house when I was growing up. You could bet that every day my Mom would cut out your comic strip and show it to us. It was so funny how it seemed like you were writing about us every day.... thanks :-)
Barbara T G: I love today's strip. No matter where you go, cleaning has to be done. Poor Elly she needs to have a chance to relax too. BTW I enjoy the return to the beginning of the strip. I don't remember when I began reading it but feel I had missed the beginning. Thank you.
Now for the fun stuff: the administrator of the page has posted some questions for the adoring fans!
What's your favourite game on our site? Do you like our Memory games? The Coffee Break game where you match the foods? Are there any games that need updating? Let us know what you think, please!
Two people like this. How can you like a question?
Jim I: I really like the Dig It! game and John's Coffee Talk (although I wish JCT would give me a "congrats!" when I win). I like the original memory game with the character's faces as well. I can usually remember those!
Subtext: I need John to congratulate me! PLEASE VALIDATE MY EXISTENCE!!!
Tracey: I like the games ok...but I really love the "strip fix" every morning and having the strips from the past few years to click through.
Mary M F M: I like that face match-up thing. Kind of like the old concentration tv show.
Thank you for learning the names of the games.
Joan C: I agree with Tracey. Yay for the Strip Fix!
Fani S: I like Liz's quizzes. I don't think there has been an updated one in a while.
Laura D L: I used to do John's coffee break often until it stopped working right. If I clear off all the objects it just stops. No congrats or anything. Being able to read the strips online daily is the best thing. I no longer receive a newspaper and would be missing out if it wasn't online.
Melissa W: maybe make more quizes like the Liz quiz. Maybe make one for each character. I enjoy them.
Pearl L: like the John's coffee break, Others make me think too much
Ah, the honesty!
Pearl L (continues with a separate post): Being able to read the strips online daily is the best thing. I no longer receive a newspaper and would be missing out if it wasn't online. this very important too
Shannon B L: the memory game.
Yes, we play the memory game a lot, trying to remember the original continuity and guess how Lynn is going to muck it up further.
Finally, my favourite story of all -- watch the spin on this news:
A note about next year's FBorFW wall calendars: Wyman Publishing, makers of the FBorFW calendar, have cut back the number of calendars they're printing due to the state of the economy. We expect to only get 250 in stock this year, and we'll be making them available on the site as soon as they arrive. Please watch this page, and our website, for details. Get yours quick because they'll be hard to find this year!
Yes, darn that economy, causing the number of days in the year to be scaled back and people who rely on calendar sales see their orders cut back. Kind of like the number of papers which used to carry the strip has cut back, too...
Two people like this story.
Jim I: Thanks for the head's [sic] up!
Nikki T: Oh, I better get one as soon as they come in. It's my mom's favorite Christmas gift!
Andrea v A asks if this refers to the wall calendars or the day-to-day desk ones and the admin confirms that it's just the wall calendars, as the day-to-day ones are made by different publishers.
Remember, you read it here first (unless you read it on Facebook), so you'd better get your orders in soon!
