Panel 1: We see an exterior shot of the Pattersons' hoverwagon as it zooms down the highway; as we wonder if the camping equipment will fly off, a dialogue bubble floating by the driver side says "No, I'm fine, honey, I'm fine! Really, I'm not tired."
Panel 2: As we see the hoverwagon at a different angle, the dialogue bubble says "No, no! You don't have to drive"
Panel 3: We shift to an interior shot of the car. A smiling John tells Elly "Just relax and amuse the kids!"; Elly would rather not because she looks terrible and we can understand why. She has to deal with a Michael and Lizzie who've made messes of themselves and the back seat eating some sort of nameless slop and left their toys everywhere.
Summary: This allows Elly to be martyred because John not only thinks that dealing with the small ones is wimmin's work, he doesn't trust her behind the wheel; she might wrap the thing around a tree or, worse yet, stop and let the kids use the can at the Esso station to tidy up and relieve themselves thereby wasting five perfectly good minutes of driving time.
