Panel 2: Well, she pulled over because she needed sleep, she reclined the seat in the hope that she would be able to sleep, and she was oblivious until the officer shone the flashlight on her. Yeah, it's a good guess that she fell asleep. And as has been said before, the side of the road is not terribly safe, even if it's safer than staying on the road.
Panel 3: Oh, I think I know where this is going.
Panel 4: For a second, I wondered how she was able to communicate between cars, then I looked at panel 3 again.
Panel 5: Yep. Elly's in the lockup! I'm sure it will be very quaint; either no real prisoners, or just one: the harmless town drunk.
And I'm equally sure that if she tells John and April about this, April will either say, "That is so COOOOOOL!" or "AAA! My mom's a JAILBIRD!" Speaking of which, I hope she will call home.
