Now that Mike is out of kindergarten, it's anyone's guess as to what happens next. Perhaps we'll see a repeat of the trip to Vancouver. On the other hand, Elly might shriek at Farley because she's too stubborn and stupid to listen to what the dog trainer told her. At this point, I wouldn't put it past Lynn to have Connie rush off to Montreal to pester Phil.

Actually, it's time for Lynn's favorite disturbing image; a frightened child (in the case Lizzie) clinging to Mother like a damned barnacle out of fear because the world is toooooooooo scary. It gets better though; that's because when she's twenty-five, a shiny, jolly, wonderful man will build a cage in his basement for her to cower in.

Panel 1: In today's new-ruin, we see Elly, folding a load of clothes, smile as Lizzie says 'Mum-mum-mum-mum-UP!"

Panel 2: She frowns the Mild Frown of Confusion as Lizzie, having been picked up, yells "WANT DOWN! NIZZIE WANT DOWN!!" It might just be me but if I were held in a manner that made me think I was going to slide out of Mommy's arms, fall on the floor and die, I'd want down too.

Panel 3: As she walks away from her offspring small one, she's really confused when she hears "Mama! Nizzie Want Up."

Panel 4: As she picks Lizzie up yet again, she thinks to herself how wonderful it is that Elizabeth is finally starting to communicate.

Panel 5: She then proves herself to be Elly Patterson by saying that, on the other hand, it has its ups and downs. This is because Nizzie want down.

Summary: The joke is supposed to be that Lizzie can't make up her mind and thus makes Elly's life hard unintentionally. It's too bad that Lynn makes her fears justifiable by showing Elly hold the child in a manner guaranteed to panic her. Looking at this, I'm scared Lizzie will slide out of Elly's arms, land on her head and die the same way Natasha Richardson (I'd originally said 'Henstridge', I don't know why.) and Billy Mays did: I'm even more worried that if she did, the cerebral aneurysm would be written off as SIDS.
