The good thing that it doesn't; the bad thing is that it depicts Elly in miserable straits.
Panel 1: A beleaguered Elly, plunger in hand, greets a flummoxed John by saying "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here....." The reason John should abandon hope is that not only is the toilet (which for some reason is at the top of a staircase) backed up and flooding the place because someone tried flushing a towel, a roll of toilet paper is on said staircase and a filthy-faced Mike, who left hand prints all over the walls is holding a screaming Nizzie who's holding a headless doll. We also see a goofy picture titled 'Mom' stuck on the wall with a dart in the kneecap, a lamp with its shade askew and toys on a rocking chair. Those look like positive things but since Elly doesn't know how to enjoy life, they're not.
In short, he should abandon hope because his wife is inept and filled with self-pity.
Summary: It's odd that we see how sucky Elly is as a homemaker but are exhorted to be angry when John questions her comeptence.
