I wrote something the other day about Carol Enjo and that got me thinking about the time the Enjo family moved to Milborough. Elly and the kids watched them move into Connie's old house, and although she didn't shy away from this opportunity to spy on their furniture, she was considerate enough to bring over some food and drinks later that afternoon when she knew they'd need a break from unpacking, and introduced herself and welcomed them to the neighbourhood. Carol was sensitive to how Elly must be feeling, seeing someone else in her best friend's old house, but Elly was already warming to the new neighbours and thought to herself that perhaps it wasn't going to be as hard as she thought. It's not a huge storyline, but it was sweet and didn't rely on puns or make any references to housework. It showed Elly putting someone else's feelings first and making a new friend.
