I hate being right.
Panel 1: Mike thought-bubbles who weird it is to see Deanna's coat hanger and little cubby where she put her stuff empty as if she were dead or something.
Panel 2: The morbid little pile of poo asks if she'll like her new school and house. As he does so, his teacher calls his name.
Panel 3: She tells him that she knows that Deanna was his friend and it's too bad she moved away while he was sick.
Panel 4: She wonders if there's anything he's like to say or ask. There is.
Panel 5: He wants to know if he can have her seat by the window.
Summary: This is to answer her critics who say that Mike is somehow behaving abnormally. "See, he's forgetting her already", she seems to be saying. Too bad that it looks as if he wants to sit there not because he's being the hatefully opportunistic little monster she thinks a child is but because he wants to soak up every last bit of Deanna-ness he can. It's sort of frightening that she can't see how wrong this all is.
