I should think that insanitypepper's prediction will, in fact, come true. We just had to establish that RevElly was trying to prevent the outbreak before we could see that her measures were useless. RetJohn will be hugging the toilet in no time.
Ooops. It's Mike rushing off to preschool.
Panel 1: Elly tells Mike that he seems to be well enough to go to preschool today. He yells "YAAAYYY" because he can say 'Hi' to Dee before she leaves 'forever'.
Panel 2: AS he puts his coat on, Elly cheerfully gives him some advice on how to keep from spreading his illness to his fellow hold-backs.
Panel 3: She then warns him against over-exertion and reminds him to stay warm. He says "ThebusiscomingloveyouBUHBYE".
Panel 4: As he happily runs to the bus stop, Elly looks on in confusion.
Summary: He's excited because he thinks he'll be able to say good-bye to Dee. Too bad that she'll be gone when he gets there.
