ETA: I think the following word sums up the strip for today: Woof. We have the same damned people as last week doing the same damned things for the same damned reasons.
Check that. Last week, Elly was subjected to an annoyance she actually tried to prevent. This week, she's horrified by something she didn't foresee. The other difference is that while she's a bit upset with the person who harshed her mellow, she does grudgingly see a bright side. This raises an important question: given the fact that the new-runs have totally destroyed the premise of the original material, would we be able to recognize the cute, sweet strips we yearn for?
Panel 1: We see Lizzie yell "HAH!" as she grabs a red marker.
Panel 2: She then gurgles "PFLGG!" as she pretends to put on lipstick.
Panel 3: She then sings "LAA-Blah!!" as she doodles on the wall.
Panel 4: This attracts Mommy's attention. Elly yells "ELIZABETH" so loudly, the child jumps two or three inches off the floor.
Panel 5: An angry Elly takes a howling Lizzie out of the room for a time out.
Panel 6: AS she washes off the marker, she thought-bubbles that Lizzie is a pain in the neck.
Panel 7: But smiles a little as she muses that the kid is really talented for her age.
Summary: I think it might actually kill Elly to smile in front of her family.
