ETA: It'll take time for Phil to meet Connie but Lynn has to remind us that she's looking for a man, any man. Not that I blame her for wanting financial security, emotional support and peace of mind but marrying into the Patterclan falls nicely into the 'bad idea' category. No wonder she had to move to Thunder Bay to get married; it was out of the Ellybutt Fail Zone.
Panel 1: Connie asks Elly when she's going to meet her brother.
Panel 2: She then asks what he's like. Is he tall, dark and handsome?
Panel 3: Elly says that she will introduce him to her but doubts that they have anything in common.
Panel 4: An agitated Connie says "He's single, isn't he?"
Summary: Elly doesn't quite get that Connie doesn't really want to be a single mother; she envies her 'friend' the 'freedom' she thinks she has. Neither knowing or caring how sad, lonely and filled with anxiety Connie's life is, Elly assumes an existence filled with sex and excitement.
