Ah. She's introducing the obedience school arc.
Panel 1: We see Elly reading from a manual titled "Dog Training" as Lizzie plays with the puppy. So far she's reading the chapter titles: "distancing your puppy from unwanted behavior, paper training, introducing the leash, reading the guidebook before you do all that..."
Panel 2: As she notes that grooming and obedience training for the young dog are also covered, Mike shows up looking to play with the dog (thereby setting up the punchline).
Panel 3: As Mike and Lizzie fight over who gets to play with the puppy they're stupidly pulling apart, a freaked-out Elly says to herself that the poor animal has to survive basic care and feeding first.
Summary: Mike thinks Farley is a living playtoy he can maul at will, LOL. Also, Elly is a criminally inept mother and pet owner, ROFLMAO.
ETA: There's a new banner up called Family Firsts. I'm hoping for a "first" wherein Elly pays attention to what's important.
