If things proceed as I think they will, we're bound to see the strip that has Elly staring out the window because John and Mike have been gone awfully long; long enough, in fact to have fallen in love with one of the puppies. This displays a certain level of awareness on her part because no matter how things shake out, she'll be the heavy. Too bad she doesn't have a similar awareness of Thelma Baird; otherwise, she'd know that she was about to be guilted into getting Farley. I just wish the sequence didn't end with Mike wondering if he liked the dog or Lizzie better.

Humph! A new run! That means the 'This is a trap' strip is tomorrow's offering.

Panel 1: Mrs Baird points out that the puppies are eight weeks old now. The reason she didn't call them before is that the mother was being moody and she wanted to keep things quiet for her.

Panel 2: Mike asks politely if he can pick up one of the puppies. She selects one which she describes as a bright little fellow.

Panel 3: She then points out to John that the two of them make a cute pair and calls on him to take the little guy as she'll have to find him a good home anyway.

Panel 4: John says if he does that she'll have to find him a good home too.

Summary: Tune in tomorrow as Elly goes over to keep herself fur-pet free.
