In any event, we're setting things up for Farley's glorious return.
Panel 1: We start things off with Lizzie walking around. As John enters the room, an excited Elly points this out to John. You'll note that she doesn't mention that the Delicate Genius saw it first.
Panel 2: What she does do is repeat her original statement. The reason Elly does something that rings true for a change is that Lynn can still remember her own feeling of elation from when Aaron and Katie took their first steps.
Panel 3: She can also remember her being worried for them. This explains why Elly says that soon Liz will be getting into it, meaning walking to have John agree...
Panel 4: ...AND point out that she'll also be getting into everything.
Summary: Too bad that worry doesn't translate into childproofing the house. Otherwise, we wouldn't have to spend the rest of the week watching reprints of her getting into messes that could have been prevented had Elly been on the ball.
ETA: Lynn celebrates Halloween by using a pun that SHOULDN'T be banned by the Geneva Convention. Also, we see Farley so that means she's fulfilled her requirement to have him appear in October.
