Panel 1: Elly tells an angry Jim that Iris is only going to be gone a few days and that they're going to have a good time. Jinx it, why don't you, Sheet Shaver?
Panel 2: She then lists all the things she's planned on doing; going outside, watching movies and making popcorn. This list is cut short by an angry snort from her father.
Panel 3: Her reaction is to stand there and lecture him like he's a naughty child. Her argument is that she somehow knows what it's like to lose the ability to communicate and to not be able to do what she used to.
Panel 4: He responds to her bullshit by giving her a Bronx cheer.
Panel 5: She, chastened looking (but not really acting), gets off her high horse and says that she doesn't really know what it feels like to be him but will try.
Summary: I've seen her resolve to do better lots of times before only to turn around and do the same stupid thing she says she regrets. This means she'll be lecturing him again in no time.
Prediction: Either this is a lead-in to flashbacks or a week of Elly acting all martyred because other wills beside her own exist.
