Panel 1: Eva asks April why she's looking in a men's wear store. April's response: she needs to buy something for Jim. Wow. The anvil dropped right off the bat. This is unusual.
Panel 2: Anyhow, she points out to Eva, who (as you will recall) doesn't actually care about his health, that she likes to bring him a present when she visits but it's difficult to shop for him.
Panel 3: He doesn't read very much, move very far or hear very well. He also has a granddaughter who accepts the faulty judgment of a stubborn, ignorant old woman prone to misinterpret what she sees.
Panel 4: All that remains, therefore, is food. Eva the flighty suggests candy that he isn't supposed to have.
Panel 5: She then asks what does she usually give him. April's response: Her time.
Summary: April the dutiful has just given her less grounded acquaintence a very subtle smackdown. Also, we may be heading into the "Put Jim in the Home" arc soon.
