I just read on Comics Curmudgeon that today's strip is going to be terrible to behold. Could it be the Flap-and-Honk-athon? Let's hope so! If I'm going to be horrified, I wanna get it over with quick.

It looks like our collective nightmare is an ugly reality.

Panel 1: Elly expresses delight that Liz is finally going to shackle herself to a loser who isn't going anywhere in this world.

Panel 2: She then goes on to state that she'd always dreamed that Liz would know the soul-crushing boredom of living in a safe, white-bread neighborhood forever and ever.

Panel 3: Elly then realizes that she has a kitsch abomination wedding to inflict upon an unhappy world.

Panel 4: Liz's chanting of the take it slow mantra fall on deaf ears as Elly contemplates a wedding that makes the Coronation look like an impulse.

ETA: You will note that no mention is made of the fact that Therese needs to be taken into account. As far as Elly is concerned, the woman was simply an unpleasant obstacle to the fulfillment of her screwball fantasy to give the daughter she wants a big, showy wedding. April, on the other hand, will be lucky if Elly remembers to show up at her wedding.
