Don't feel like going panel by panel. I would say that the last panel, especially the sly look on Mike's face, is foreshadowing, but nowadays, he's not calculating, because he doesn't have to be. He just gets everything handed to him. It's been said, back before the Housening, that the Pattersons Redux could very reasonably have been housed in the basement post-fire. Instead, Mike an' Dee got the "quietest room in the house" with the en suite baath, because their comfort was paramount. They were ALWAYS accommodated as if they were in the Pattermanse for the long haul, and anyone who felt inconvenienced was just a whiny spoiled princess. They had no incentive to find their own place, and in fact, it never really seemed as if they were expected to. Which is odd when you think about it, because I think a lot of parents wouldn't put up with that. But a lot of parents don't have a delicate genius for a son.

Oh, and I forgot to say: What does this strip have to do with the price of butter? It certainly has nothing to do with John or dishes, and it's not related to Friday's strip either. This hybrid is like a really, REALLY bad clip show.
