Greetings from Candace! The weather here’s been strange, to say the least. A few days ago, it was like spring, now it’s snowing like crazy. I want some cocoa.
Liz came to see me earlier this month. I invited her over to Rude’s and my place for New Year’s, but she said she had "other plans," which is code for "I’m going to go over to Anthony’s and snog on the couch."
She did come visit on the thirteenth though. And guess which pasty-faced dweeb came on her arm? Don’t get me wrong, Anthony and I were friends in high school, and I even went to a dance with him (All he would talk about was Liz, so I ditched him. Come to think of it, that may have been why his wife took off.), but he’s still the same guy! I don’t want a radical transformation, like nipple rings and a Harley, but the guy is totally static. The only real difference is his hairline’s receding.
Anyhoo, it irked me that she dragged him along without even asking me. I thought we were going to have a girl’s day (I even rented a couple chick flicks, like the ‘Notebook’ and that one with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, only they’re not on a bus and no one’s screaming. Liz likes those sappy movies.). Rudy even agreed to go out for a couple hours to give us girl time, but I open the door and come to find The Doughboy standing there, giving me an idiotic smile. And worse, he brought his kid.
She had nothing to play with, save a couple dolls she brought. My apartment’s not made for children; I have no toys, no kid videos or books. She was totally bored. I tried to give her a brownie, but Anthony doesn’t approve of sweets. She ended up watching Disney Channel for two hours while Blanthony and Liz blathered on about "How wonderful it is to be together again after all this time" and "Fate blah-blah-blah." I’d have rather been in the living room with Francie watching 'Wizards of Waverly Place.'
Hey, twelve days until my birthday!* Rudy and I are going to go out for burgers and darts, maybe some air hockey. Auntie Roo couldn’t make it on the twelfth, so she’ll eat dinner with us the night before.
See you next month!
