Panel 1: Oh, for god's sake. That's what you ask when you're twelve or thirteen. Fourteen at the most. More ammo for the "Whaddya mean, April has rights?" crowd. I mean, not that sixteen is too old to be insecure. But by that age, you're going to have more specific concerns: Am I cool, am I hot, am I too smart, not smart enough...Not just a nebulous "am I weird?" Weird how, for crying out loud?
Panel 2: Okay. Now I take it back. She's said it, in as articulate a manner as we're ever going to get. I defy anyone to look at the last six months of the strip and call this "typical self-centered teen angst." But you know they will. And Eva doesn't seem to like Gerald, eh?
Panel 3: OH MY GOD ARE THEY EVER GOING TO BEAT THE BECKY MONSTER TO DEATH?!?!
Also, I did another search in a different forum. I recall that back before the Endless Grad, people were objecting to Becky "being mean" to Shan...non, and saying, "They should kick her out of the band!" It defies my understanding why, if Becky is so awful, that it was wrong for her to leave the band. Egotists, if you want to say she's one, do get kicked out of bands sometimes. So why were April et. al. so upset to lose a band member they no longer liked?
Panel 4: Whatever. Once again, April tries to make herself heard, and gets drowned out by drama. And I'm so looking forward to the meaningful glances between Gerald and Becky, which will make April feel uncertain, and then the ten weeks on other stories, and then back to Ger and Apes as if nothing happened at all.
