The one where April is BAD and CRUEL and WANTS TO ENSLAVE ELLY because children 'fake' a fear of abandonment because they hate the idea of their poor mother being happy and free.
Panel 1: April does not want to go to the scary place because like her other siblings, she understands Elly well enough to fear that Mommy is going to leave and never come back. Elly is not aware that she gives off the vibe of wanting to do so which renders her reassurances otherwise moot.
Panel 2: When they go inside, April's wanting her to stay with her is met by more happy talk that April knows is a lie.
Panel 3: Elly gets all smiley about how Mommy isn't going to leave today when April continues to not want to be just plain abandoned.
Panel 4: April's knowing better is seen as a horrible burden.
Summary: As
howtheduck says, Lynn never quite manages to understand what children really fear. Lynn's issues prompt her to believe that children fear abandonment because she doesn't get that they fear the unfamiliar. We see that tomorrow and Friday.
