Panel 1: It would seem that part of Liz's being forced outside means dragging April with her so when Liz gets her an ice cream, she's not to happy about it. Dawn is there too which presents a 'problem' called being distracted.
Panel 2: Because she's a fifteen month old child who doesn't know how to hold the cone the right way owing to the fact that children than tiny have the tendency to grab on to the part that's steady in their clumsy and frail little hands, April bites the cone at the base and doesn't notice that the ice cream has fallen in her lap. (This sails over the furrowed brows of the Mom Martyrs who can't admit that being a newborn isn't on purpose.)
Liz does not notice this because she is selfish and is too busy having a social life that interferes with her duty to wait hand and foot on April so Elly can be spared.
Panel 3: Liz continues to be mean to Elly by not noticing something that April doesn't call her attention to.
Panel 4: Elly is baffled and horrified by the ice cream on April's lap. More for her to clean up because children are selfish and bad.
Summary: This is targeted at Mom Martyrs who think that children are unpaid and unpayable servants. Everyone else.....not so much.
