Snarky Candiru2

The one where Elly thinks that being a human being is setting a terrible example.

Panel 1: We see a rather ordinary encounter in which Liz tells Elly that she and Dawn are going to the store before hitting her up. Elly guesses that she can spare a few bucks.

Panel 2: Things would end there but for Elly's tendency to strive to be a good parent. This makes her go bug-eyed with horror and second-guess paying the babysitter. She asks why she did that because to her self-centered estimation, Liz didn't earn that money. We then remind ourselves that she fears the consequences of 'keeping' her children financially by reminding herself that she's not doing Liz a favor by just handing her cash.

Panel 3: She wonders far too late what sort of example she's setting by being inconsistent. She wonders what sort of parent she is. She won't like the answer most people give her.

Panel 4: She amazes herself by saying that she's her own worst critic.

Summary: Her reaction to that is to catch up on nagging her children about the inconsequential so as to be her idea of a good parent.
