Snarky Candiru2

Thursday, 27 August 2020

The one that ushers in Elly's fifteen year long menopause. I wish I was joking, I really do. Damn you, Lynn. Damn you to Hell.

(Original Publication Date, 27 August 1991)

Panel 1: As John gets dressed for work, he has to endure Elly's cheap theatrics again when she stands there looking as if the world were about to end because she is forty. She cannot believe that she is forty because forty is so....OLD!!!!!!

Panel 2: Instead of reminding her that she said the same thing last year and the year before that and the year before that, he does something futile and tries to cheer her up. He reminds her that she's the same person she was yesterday and points out that forty is just a number.

Panel 3: He reminds us that he can never really seem to understand that he married a woman who likes to feel bad when he reminds her of an old saying: "You're only as old as you feel!"

Panel 4: Elly reminds us that she's a self-made bleary-eyed wreck when her cellulite flaps and she thought-bubbles that she feels forty.

Summary: This will probably result in comments about how silly Lynn was to feel old when she was that age. Odd how she takes her sweet time realizing that she was young back then.
