Snarky Candiru2

Sunday, 2 August 2020

The one that reminds us that Elly's negligence constitutes an active and on-going danger to April's well-being.

(Original Publication Date, 4 August 1991)

Panel 1: We find ourselves at the end of a busy day grocery shopping. As always, Elly holds April's stroller in front of her while dragging the cart behind her because it never occurs to her to ask a staff member for help.

Panel 2: Having already put April in her set, we find Elly putting the groceries in the back of the hoverwagon.

Panel 3: The redrawn panel has Elly looking over her shoulder and smiling because April is asleep. Beforehand, she was in the front seat.

Panel 4: We find Elly carrying the groceries inside. Since Mike is away, this means that Liz is also out some place. Also, we only think that something else has been taken care of.

Panel 5: Elly takes the groceries that she put on the counter into the cupboard.

Panel 6: Elly puts the last of the groceries in the cupboard.

Panel 7: Elly sits down with a cuppacoffee and sighs contentedly.

Panel 8: Suddenly, she remembers that she forgot to do something important.

Panel 9: She's probably muttering rude words under her breath as she runs to the car.

Panel 10: In both the original and redrawn versions, a horrified Elly finally gets a frightened April out of the car and will probably talk about the close call she had for a while.

Summary: If Lynn is well, we can probably expect to see her hold forth on how they make cars so you can't leave kids and pets in them any more.
