Snarky Candiru2

Wednesday, 29 July 2020

The one where Dan's employee tells Mike that children need to be isolated from their peers so they can be fit company for whizzled-up old pisstanks like him.

(Original Publication Date, 31 July 1991)

Panel 1: Mike settles back into narrator mode as he explains that it took him, Dan and Arnold the hired man to get Hermione into the back of the half-ton. The visual image has Dan stand there and watch so Mike can push Hermione's rump up a ramp whilst Arnold holds onto the lead.

Panel 2: He explains that he'd thought that Hermione would fight all the way to the fair but she'd settled down and enjoyed the ride.

Panel 3: We thus come to the second part of Lynn's attempt to make peace with Freddy Parkinson. We start by having him tell Mike that pigs and kids are a lot alike.

Panel 4: You see, if you get them away from their own kind, they can be downright civilized. Mike's reaction is to stare in confusion because that's something he's overheard his parents say.

Summary: We can see why it is that Lynn was angry at howtheduck; she'd tried to make things better by giving that man her opinion and it didn't seem to take.
