The one where Mike runs into an old enemy: inadequate supervision by inept parental figures.

(Original Publication Date, 27 July 1991)

Panel 1: For some reason, Danny is teaching Mike how to use a spray painter. He explains that to use the machine properly, you have to keep the nozzle clear, keep the pressure up and use slow, side to side stroke.

One notices that Danny's advice conflicts itself and will lead to Mike overspraying should Danny pull a bunk like John and Elly do.

Panel 2: Mike is wearing a mask over his nose and mouth as he spray-paints with his eyes closed. This will not end well because Danny has split the scene like John and Elly would.

Panel 3: I'm reminded of the time he used the snow blower and pointed the discharge chute so as to fill in the area he'd plowed over when he raises a huge cloud of paint. He has oversprayed because he was more or less told to do so.

Panel 4: We see the end results of Dan's ineptitude when he reacts to the fact that there's more paint on Michael than on the shed by telling him "On the other hand, you might try using a brush."

Summary: We spend next week having to endure people putting lipstick on pigs. This means that this is probably the highlight of Mike's exile. That's because he isn't being told to do things by people who don't supervise him. Fiona would have been bad because she might have kept an eye on him.
