Snarky Candiru2

The one in which Elly thinks that she can argue a two-month old infant into waiting to be breast-fed.

(Original Publication Date, 21 June 1991)

Panel 1: As Elly drives home from the store, it would appear that she has forgotten something else about two month old children in that they cannot tell time or understand when things are convenient for other people. This is manifested by her panicky comment to a howling April that they're almost home and she should wait a few minutes.

Panel 2: Since April is too young to know what a main highway is, Elly's telling her that she can't feed her now because she's on the 401 means very little to the crying and hungry child.

Panel 3: We remind ourselves that Elly is always going to be a stupid idiot who thinks that a baby is a tiny adult when she says "We only have a short way to go....why don't you be reasonable?" as if she can argue someone into not feeling hungry until she herself is ready.

Panel 4: Elly answers my question about why she herself cannot be reasonable when she pulls off to the shoulder and thought-bubbles "Why don't cows fly?"

Summary: I don't remember where I saw it but I once saw a comment about people so stupid, they can hold a branch in their arms and try to argue people into agreeing that they are actually a mighty redwood. This means that Elly is Groot.
