The one where we're reminded of something important: Elly fears and hates cats.

(Original Publication Date, 2 May 1991)

Panel 1: Fiona acts like every maiden aunt who ever lived by getting overly chummy with Liz and failing to realize or admit how unsettling being manhandled by a polyester-clad musk-ox with tobacco breath is. This is probably so we can get an I Was A Teenage Lindy that gets really smug about disdaining the woman behind the caricature.

Panel 2: Liz recoils in horror when Fiona wonders if she's shy or something before inviting her to call her auntie. This is because Liz associates ugliness with being a witch or some such infantile garbage because she's the creation of a nitwit who associates cats with sorcery and malice.

Panel 3: Mike announces that while he has brought in most of the luggage, there is one final box to be put away. An alarmed looking Fiona says that it's not a 'box' because he's talking about something precious to her.

Panel 4: She starts to turn into Crazy Cat Lady when she announces that the occupant of the pet carrier Mike called a box because he's never seen on in his life is her cat Beaumont. Since Elly fears and hates cats because they don't take her shit lying down and also because she has to pay attention to what they're doing and not ignore them like she does Farley, she goes goggle-eyed with horror.

Summary: This theme of scary, scary cats 'prowling' Elly's nice house is going to reassert itself when Shimsaa makes the scene and Elly freaks out about her appearing out of 'nowhere' too. Also, I'd be shocked if Lynn didn't repeat old myths about cats sucking the breath from babies.
