Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 28 April 2020

The one about doing a lot of work to get 'less' work that's ironic as the lyrics in Ironic.

(Original Publication Date, 30 April 1991)

Panel 1: When Liz sees Elly turn the rec-room couch into a hide-a-bed, she asks why she's doing so; Elly explains that she's getting the basement ready for Fiona.

Panel 2: When Liz asks who that is, Elly blows a name take and calls her a relative of John's instead of "one of your father's relatives" before asking her to bring over some pillow slips and a pail.

Panel 3: After Elly says that all she needs to do now is clean the bathroom, get some groceries and vacuum, Liz asks why she's doing all of this.

Panel 4: Super-exhausted Elly sits on the chair and says "So I can get some rest!"

Summary: As PJ O'Rourke said, life is filled with irony when you're stupid like Elly is. Also, this ends up becoming Mike's room because Fiona doesn't wanna sleep on someone's couch and also because Teenage Lindy wants to complain about a dead relative and being treated like a scullery maid.
