Snarky Candiru2

Wednesday, 1 April 2020

The one where John's feelings of panic and relief are indulgently laughed off.

(Original Publication Date, 1 April 1991)

Panel 1: As John gets in the house, an excited Liz tells him that Mom had a baby Martian picky-face princess creature who'll eventually make Elly quit motherhood.

Panel 2: As they walk down the hallway, Super!Excited Liz tells him that Baby is beautiful, she has dark hair like KatieMichael and she saw her being BORN!

Panel 3: As she holds the new addition, John and Naked Elly greet one another. Both mother and child appear to be doing quite well so that the haters may be beaten over the head with the "I'm not sick" stick.

Panel 4: As they listen in at the doorway, Liz tells Mike that it's strange to her that Daddy is crying despite the fact that Mom and the baby are fine.

Summary: I wonder how she'd react to being told how God-damned lucky Elly and baby are to be fine. Since she's Lynn, she'd blow the person telling her that off too.

Lynn in (government ordered) self-isolation.

Given that Lynn was self-isolating long before COVID-19 blighted the world, we get a news note that talks about the joys of solitude.

Given Lynn's poor grasp on technology, it's quite likely that she has no idea that she'd had to save the super-great post in case of a power interruption. If the screen goes blank and she can't find a file, that means she still doesn't realize this.
