Snarky Candiru2

Monday, 30 September 2019

We start a sort of zits-and-vacuuming arc about Keith's vegetable garden with Liz making a trite, greeting-card quality observation about the changing seasons.

(Original Publication Date, 1 October 1990)

Panel 1: We start things off with Liz about to head outside when Sundayverse Elly reminds her in a calm, Sundayverse tone of voice that she should wear a sweater because it's cold outside now.

Panel 2: As she puts her sweater on, Sundayverse Mike makes a rare appearance in the daily strips to announce that he's brought in some wood that he'd like to know if he can put on the fireplace.

Panel 3: When she does head outside, Liz notes that John is putting up the storm windows for the winter.

Panel 4: As she watches the leaves fall, Liz notes that autumn is when people put things on while trees take things off.

Summary: We're in for two weeks of mildly amusing observational humour that leads into Elly wringing her hands because Mike is interested in THAT GIRL!!! he sees TOO MUCH OF!!!!
