Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 11 December 2018

We plod mercilessly on with Christmas being a season of pain and misery for Elly as the social obligation of sending Christmas cards to distant friends and relatives becomes a crushing burden.

Panel 1: We start things off with Liz shuffling through the daily mail to announce that more Christmas cards have arrived.

Panel 2: As she shuffles through the cards, Lynn does some shouting out to friends by starting things off by having Elly say that an Allie Hindmarch always remembers to send her a card and hoping that she remembered to send cards to Karen Howe, Jim and Carolyn and Murray and Eleanor.

Panel 3: She then tells us what the punchline is going to be by having Elly muse that she hasn't written to her good friends George and Sigrid, Rick, Len, Marj and Loretta in ages.

Panel 4: She then goes all gob-smacked and thought-bubbles that Christmas is the season to feel guilty.

Summary: There is nothing like Lynn doing an annual shout-out to her pals to remind us that Elly feels as if the weight of the world crushes down on her all the harder during the Christmas season.
