Connie complains about the fact that despite having nine people in her committee, only she and two other people do any actual work.

(Strip Number 1394, Original Publication Date, 11 January 1989)

Panel 1: Connie says that she would invite Elly in for a cuppa but she really needs to get to another meeting.

Panel 2: She then confuses Elly by telling her that she has no idea how the vaguely-defined hospital project is driving her nuts because of all the work she has to put in.

Panel 3: This confuses Elly because she was given to understand that there were nine people on the committee.

Panel 4: Lynn takes a jab at people she doesn't see as pulling their weight by having Connie exclaim that only three of them do any work.

Summary: Without intending to, Elly shows us why this complaint of Connie's is a load of old bollocks Saturday when she 'volunteers' herself to become head of yet another committee because she's too dim to foresee having responsibility thrust on her yet again. Also, we can expect an arch comment that denies charges that Lynn is the sort of hanger-on that Connie is upbraiding.
