Snarky Candiru2

Thursday, 26 October 2017: Along Came A Flapandhonk.

Elly's screaming about the horrible fake spider leads to a reminder that she's kind of too lazy to get rid of the real ones.

(Strip Number 1360, Original Publication Date, 26 October 1988)

Panel 1: As she serves out the evening meal of Little Orange Surprise, an angry Elly reacts in disgust to a rubber spider hanging over the table and asks who put it there. Mike says that he did.

Panel 2: When she bellows for him to take it down, he tells her that she needs to lighten up and get into the Halloween spirit.

Panel 3: Rage-faced Elly tells him that she can get into the spirit just fine without rubber spiders hanging from the ceiling.

Panel 4: Mike smiles as he points to a real spider in the corner of the room and reminds her that she puts up with the genuine article. As one could predict, Elly is not happy to have it pointed out that she isn't the homemaker she likes to think she is.

Summary: Had things continued, Mike would probably be either wearing the casserole OR enduring a lecture about how it's only cruel if HE does the Funky Chicken on a spider.
