Snarky Candiru2

Wednesday, 14 June 2017

We find ourselves dealing with John having a very little bit of a point when Elly reveals that her idea for the new kitchen is a generalized 'something better than what I have now' rather than the definite plan he'd like.

(Strip Number 1301, Original Publication Date, 14 June 1988)

Panel 1: John tells Elly that he's measured the kitchen and found a place that can custom-build the works.

Panel 2: He then makes the mistake of asking her what she wants the new kitchen to actually look like. She doesn't really have much of an idea.

Panel 3: As she carts in a pile of guide books to build up the pile she's already got, she floors him by saying that she's picked up a few books to give her some ideas.

Summary: This, I think, could be a representation of the envenoming incident right here: Rod was willing to remodel but he wanted her to come up with one plan that didn't vary from day to day faster than she wanted to so he'd know what to order and that KILLED HER CREATIVITY!!!!! and ROBBED HER OF HER VOICE!!!!!!!
