Snarky Candiru2

Monday, 8 May 2017

We end the Michael's Birthday arc with a reminder that Lynn doesn't understand men when John is depicted as being evil and woman-objectifying because he acted like a regular kid back in the day.

(Strip Number 4962, Original Publication Date, 7 May 1988)

Panel 1: A while later, we find John on the porch telling Michael that the trouble with the adolescence he has yet to experience is that while the bodies of he and the guys are indeed changing, it's happening at different rates.

Panel 2: As by way of example, he says that some boys grow beards earlier and that while some boys have their voice crack, other boys' voices deepen gradually.

Panel 3: When Mike asks John if he was as fixated on the changes happening to him and his peer group as he is, John says "Nah!!!"

Panel 4: Mike is gobsmacked when Daddy says that he was too busy noticing what was happening to the girls.

Summary: Since being a regular guy is pretty much why John is bad, it's not hard to see that Lynn acts as if her inability to understand men is their fault.
