Snarky Candiru2

Wednesday, 22 March 2017

Since Elly cannot and will not live in a world wherein her children do dumb things without the specific intent of hurting her so that they can laugh at her suffering, Paul Jones will sit here and think dark thoughts about hateful imbecile boomer women.

(Strip Number 1269, Original Publication Date, 22 March 1988)

Panel 1: As one could expect, Elly does not take John's news about Lizzie swallowing her tooth by accident well. This manifests itself as her getting him to repeat what he said.

Panel 2: He then guesses that she tried to fit her tooth in the hole it came out of and things happened from there.

Panel 3: He then reassured her that the Tooth Fairy would still come but it's 10 and Lizzie is upset and wide awake and asks Elly what she'll do now.

Panel 4: Since she's dead certain that Lizzie will still be wide awake for at least two more hours, The Tooth Fairy tells John that she will think horrible things about children who disrupt her sleep and set her alarm clock for 2 am.

Summary: The irritating thing is that it isn't a missing tooth that might start Lizzie on growing up too fast. The irritating thing is that Melody Morrison is invoked so as to set Lizzie on the path of cynicism and despair and all the other blah-blah-blah Elly likes to frighten herself with when her children grow up a little.
