Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 13 December 2016

When primary caregiver Mike tries to call her on being a destructive idiot who can't keep her hands to herself, Lizzie tries to use exact words to avoid a bummer accountability trip.

(Strip Number 4904, Original Publication Date, 15 December 1987)

Panel 1: When Mike checks in during the next commercial break, he comes across Lizzie playing around in the kitchen and asks her what she's doing. Lizzie says that she's playing.

Panel 2: Having noticed that she's been too busy screwing around with Elly's utensils to bother mopping up the soapy mess she made, Mike points out that there's water, flour and chocolate sprinkles all over the place.

Panel 3: He then asks what's wrong with her that Mom can't even leave her alone for ten minutes. Lizzie says that there's nothing the matter with her and Mom CAN leave her alone for ten minutes.

Panel 4: The problem is that Elly's been gone for an hour and a half.

Summary: The question should be if inattentive Mike can be trusted to watch Lizzie for more than ten minutes. This is more of the downside of putting a kid in charge of another kid: Mike is too used to the idea that Mommy is going to there to fix things to be effective.
