Snarky Candiru2

American Thanksgiving 2016

Ted continues to preach the virtues of breaking the Sixth Commandment in furtherance of Lynn's need to punish Doug for disloyalty and to remind us that John's only friend is a creep he hates.

(Strip Number , Original Publication Date, 26 November 1987)

Panel 1: Ted continues on by telling John that he's crowding forty and owes it to himself to have some fun before life passes him by.

Panel 2: We zoom out to see Lynn's idea of a pretty barmaid while Ted drones on about how every man ever cheats on his wife and makes a fool of her and cruelly and selfishly turns his back on her love and that's bad unless she's an evil career woman who gets in Lizardbreath's way.

Panel 3: He continues his sub-par impersonation of Eric Idle by nudging and winking when he says that it ain't no sin and besides, John needs a little recreation.

Panel 4: John gives him the stink-eye when he says that he ain't talking about racquetball.

Summary: If you're like me, you look at Ted and see a tiresome dolt who mistakenly believes that he's got it made. (John's irritated glare means that this is one thing on which we are on the same page.) If you're like Lynn's target audience, you're gonna shriek that he's a BAD MAN who wants Elly to be made a fool of and Mike and Lizzie to bear the stigma of being from a broken home because he's a SELFISH MONSTER who needs his EVIL MAN PARTS to be cut off with a chainsaw in public....right after they stone all the single women to death for threatening marriages and homes.
