Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 13 September 2016

Today, we're reminded that the other reason that bingo does not appeal to Lynn is that she doesn't much care for second-hand smoke.

(Strip Number 1201, Irigunal Publication Date, 15 September 1987)

Panel 1: As the game progresses, we hear someone call Bingo; Elly asks where the person is.

Panel 2: Thelma tells her that she's over there waving her arms in the air.

Panel 3: Elly asks if that means that she won the jackpot.

Panel 4: As we zoom out and get reminded that this is 1987 and people were still allowed to smoke in public buildings, Thelma reminds her that this is so the caller can see her through the haze.

Summary: While this is going to irritate any libertarians who might happen upon this blog entry, I don't actually much care for the stench either....or the seemingly endless array of zombies who assume that everyone has the filthy habit. While the damage to health is bad, the damage to human dignity is worse as the addictive nature of nicotine brings out the disgusting importuning hobo in everybody.
