Snarky Candiru2

Friday, 9 September 2016

Yet again, Elly's attempt to assure herself that people don't take something not to her tastes seriously runs aground on the rocky shoals of reality.

(Strip Number 4859, Original Publication Date, 11 September 1987)

Panel 1: When they get to the counter to pick up their cards, a baffled Frieda questions why Elly only bought two cards when she can handle at least four.

Panel 2: Since she thinks she's being this great big hero indulging these silly people wasting their time playing their silly game, Elly commits the social faux-pas of asking people who live for something she doesn't care for much if they perhaps take it more seriously than they should.

Panel 3: When she's surrounded by baffled and mildly outraged people who give her a funny look, she meekly mutters 'oh' because they do take it that seriously.

Summary: The funny thing is that when anyone is suicidal enough to question her interests, she turns into a foaming-at-the-mouth wacko.
