Elly describes having helped Mrs Baird pack up her belongings as having seen a lifetime in a day.

(Strip number 4799, Original Publication Date, 6 May 1987)

Panel 1: A few hours later, we find Elly in John's workshop telling her about helping Mrs Baird pack her belongings before the move with special emphasis on all the things she's collected.

Panel 2: As John saws something, Elly tells him that Thelma still has some of the toys she had as a child.

Panel 3: She goes on to state that she's sorted through clothing, jewelry, games, souvenirs and photos.

Panel 4: She gets sort of thoughtful when she states that she's seen a lifetime in a day.

Summary: This sort of comes in handy next year after Mrs Baird passes. That way, she can at least talk to the nieces and nephews with some confidence at the memorial service.
