Snarky Candiru2

Saturday, 5 March 2016

We end the week with everybody who is not Elly delighted by the idea of Connie moving into Thelma's house.

(Strip Number 4780, Original Publication Date, 7 March 1987)

Panel 1: As Connie, Elly and Mike tour Thelma's place, she confesses that it's a bit big but she wanted a sewing room and the long-dead Mr Baird wanted his den (and also they wanted a big family) so there we are with a cavern.

Panel 2: Thelma tells Connie that she's been rattling around inside alone for far too long.

Panel 3: She then says that what the house needs now is to be filled with the noise, love, and laughter she'd hoped to fill it with sixty years ago.

Panel 4: When Connie tells Thelma that she's found the family to provide that, Elly is surprised while Michael and Thelma are delighted.

Summary: The problem is that the noise, love and laughter go away shortly after Thelma makes that final move from her room at the old folk's home to a pine box. This is because Greg, Molly and Gayle don't 'speak' to Lynn any more than Paula, Melody and the Nichols children do.
