Snarky Candiru2

Friday, 4 March 2016

Mike forces a solution to an artificial dilemma by pointing out a fact that Elly would for some stupid reason prefer to keep hidden and delights Connie by saying that she can live right next door to the Patterswine.

(Strip Number 6043, Original Publication Date, 6 March 1987)

Panel 1: As Elly waters some plants, Connie admits that she really wants to move back into the old neighbourhood so she doesn't have to go out of her way to hang out at the Pattermanse.

Panel 2: Having overheard this, Michael tells Elly that she should tell her about Mrs Baird's house.

Panel 3: Elly tries to tell him it's a bad idea because of a reason we'll find out in a bit but gets interrupted.

Panel 4: Said interruption is Connie being filled with with enthusiasm that the house is for sale.

Summary: Personally, I think Lynn should have kept the revised version of this strip because Elly makes more sense that way. Telling Mike that Connie's not willing to look at something that would cost too much to fix is better than making it look as if Elly were putting her own snow-man in front of the for sale sign.
