Snarky Candiru2

Sunday, 21 February 2016

When Annie ships her destructive children over to Elly's house for peace and quiet, Elly can't help but achieve payback.

(Strip Number 7237, Original Publication Date, 22 February 1987)

Panel 1: For some reason, the Nichols children are heading to the Patterson house.

Panel 2: Chris pounds on the door and asks Lizzie's mom if they can be let in.

Panel 3: Elly opens the door and lets them in.

Panel 4: As he hands Leah to Elly, Chris tells him that their mom sent him to her place for a while.

Panel 5: Richard reports that Annie did so to get some peace and quiet.

Panel 6: As they go off to join Lizzie in spreading chaos, Chris says that his mom intends taking a long bath.

Panel 7: As always, Elly winces in rage when exposed to the horrible horror that is small children behaving normally.

Panel 8: We switch focus to the Nichols house as we find ourselves watching Annie in the bath wondering who could be calling.

Panel 9: A dripping wet Annie stands there holding up her towel to find that it's Elly.

Panel 10: Elly grins evilly as she tells her that the kids are at her place.

Summary: We can probably expect some passive-aggressive stuff about how lovely it would really be to do this sort of thing to people.

“Cruise with Cartoonists” (cancelled… sorry)

For those of us who have been looking forward to Lynn's commentary on her cruise with the cartoonists that was supposed to have happened last month, it is apparently canned. I don't have the reason why. Here is the link to the news from Lynn that originally described it.

Here is the link to Jeff Keane (from Family Circus fame) who tells us that it is cancelled with no other words than (cancelled... sorry). My internet searching has not been able to find the reason.
