Snarky Candiru2

John gets his bowels in an uproar because he has to look through the trash because Elly thinks she misplaced her rings.

(Strip Number 6157, Original Publication Date, 12 October 1986)

Panel 1: We find ourselves looking at John with head in hands sighing about something.

Panel 2: He then rages "Not AGAIN!!" at an indifferent God.

Panel 3: As he stomps down the back pathway, his thoughts are so angry, the thought-bubble itself has turned black.

Panel 4: He grimaces disgustedly as he opens up the trash cans.

Panel 5: He continues to be all rage-faced as he takes the bags out.

Panel 6: He then grimly dumps out the contents.

Panel 7: Raging Asshole John is enraged because he has to search for something important to someone else instead of sitting on his arse pretending that his lifestyle is in any way strenuous.

Panel 8: Suddenly, Elly bursts onto the scene telling him that he can call off the search.

Panel 9: This is because she tells a distinctly pissed-off John that she's found the rings she mislaid when she took them off to do the dishes.

Summary: I'd ask John if she should just let the things vanish into a landfill so he can sit on his fat ass or camp out on the couch like a graceless yahoo but I think we all know the answer. That being said, if something held value for him, he'd move Heaven and Earth to find it because he's a pig who needs to have Russian Tooth Fairy come for ALL his teeth.

We go back to the save the theater arc with a reminder that the apathetic vermin citizenry Elly is trying to save think that she's crazy for wanting to shove arts down their throats.

(Strip Number 4691, Original Publication Date, 13 October 1986)

Panel 1: As she and John work on a patient, Jean tells John that she saw Elly downtown today.

Panel 2: John responds that she's put her heart into saving that theatre.

Panel 3: Jean says that Elly's got a lot of guts making a stand like that and has become a local landmark.

Panel 4: When the patient asks if they're talking about the nut with the sandwich board, they're shocked by the sort of landmark she's become.

Summary: As we've seen, most of the people in town seem to believe that even if the arts need funding, the sportsplex will provide it and thus Elly is on a fool's errand. In any event, they'll end up thinking something else when they vote for a MAN proposing the same damned thing for the same damned reason.
